LODGIC EVERYDAY COMMUNITY

Here are a few installation photos from a project created for LODGIC EVERYDAY COMMUNITY, a co-work/restaurant/kid’s camp space in downtown Louisville.

Muhammad Ali is the People's Champion, the GOAT, an example of the heart of Louisville. These direct quotes are a mirror of the champ—filled with humor, pride, inspiration and a bit of pizzazz! Plastering the individual posters in repetition—reminiscent of old boxing advertisements pasted on a street corner—your eye settles on individual quotes, but when we step back we get a bigger and better sense of the beauty of Ali, Louisville, and ourselves.

For this piece, I created 10 different letterpress posters with a wide variety of colorful backgrounds. Each poster’s text came from Louisville’s own Muhammad Ali, I tried to choose lines that were both iconic and inspiring. Over 50 posters were then wheat pasted onto a 12 foot high brick wall that sits at the end of a long hallway.
