FULL-DAY Letterpress Workshop with e bond! (Aug 24 10-5)

$150.00

PRINT ON PRINTS ON PRINTS!

Sunday, August 24 (10am–5 pm)

Join e bond and Brad Vetter for day full of fun maximalism. The motto of this letterpress workshop will be ‘more is more’ as we layer prints on prints on prints. The first half of the day will be learning gelli-plate printing to create unique colorful layered background compositions. After lunch, we will jump into letterpress printing. We will give you a quick introduction to this centuries-old process and a tour of Brad Vetter’s printshop at Friend of Mine. Using a variety of letterpress printing techniques, such as expressive inking, printing antique wood type and laser cut shapes, we’ll create an abundance of fun typographic prints under e and Brad’s guidance and expertise.

This workshop includes:

  • 6 full hours of experimental printing!

  • hands-on introduction to letterpress & gelli-plate printing

  • all materials provided

  • assistance from experienced printers (workshop limited to 5 people)

  • Lunch on your own, but drinks and snacks provided

*No printing/letterpress experience required, but fun for all skill levels!

**this workshop will be centered around layering type and shape and multiple printing processes. We will encourage everyone to come in with an open mind and ready to explore ideas that we present.
